Curing the Homesick

by - 8:33 AM

Our Canadian Care Package finally arrived!

So it's almost been 3 months since Chelsea and I left our homes, friends and family in Calgary, Alberta and to be honest, at this point we're definitely feeling the effects of homesickness. We knew we'd be missing The Calgary Stampede this year and despite the large crowds, overpriced games and food, summer just isn't complete without indulging in some sort of Stampede related activity. Not to mention all the barbecues, camping, Timmy's, road trips and hiking in the glorious Canadian wilderness.

Sure, leaving winter in Canada only to arrive in time for Australian winter kinda sucked,
but good news is it's nowhere near the bone-chilling -30 degree weather we're used to back home!
The weather here's very similar to Vancouver which is really nice.

Rewind back to May 14, 2014, I get a message from my friend Isaac...

Imagine our surprise when, not even 2 weeks in, we get such a thoughtful and generous offer! Yes please!

At the time we were still in the process of moving to a new place and then scheduled to move yet again a month later, so it wasn't ideal to be receiving packages just yet.

After finally getting settled for over a month at our more long term place,
we were finally able to receive them Canadian goodies!

Fast forward to present day:

Didn't think I'd get all nostalgic just by looking at the Canada Post logo

...and the bilingual packaging

Chelsea's been having a big tea craze lately, so this definitely hit the spot!

The Maple flavoured agave was a nice surprise with a Canadian twist!

If there's one thing you gotta know about me, It's that I LOVE BEEF JERKY.

Good ol' Timmy's :)

Mmm another Canadian favourite.
Or as the Aussies would probably call em' if they had em': "Tomato Sauce Chips"
Ehhh, just doesn't sound right lol

Thanks Isaac!

잘 먹겠습니다!

Much appreciated and truly very thoughtful.
