This weekend was definitely filled with Mindy. We're on episode 9 of season 1. Love the banter between the characters & I wonder who wrote the script. It's hilarious!
Rediscovering our love for Nerds. Since I have to work 3 hours before I get a break, I need an extremely quick picker upper. Sugar somehow tricks my body into thinking that i'm feeding it something (somehow). Honestly, I don't even find the time to pop candy in my mouth once I startwork. It is just THAT busy... well, close to lunchtime anyway.
Going on an aside here, I did my first three days at the cafe last week. I just help serve food and drinks to the customers, clear tables and help the crew fix the place up for closing. Whenever I see women lifting heavy stuff and doing it like it's nothing, it honestly makes me wonder what's wrong with me. Why can't I get through it without feeling like i'm dying? I also have to realize that i've only been to the gym less than 10 times in my whole life.
Anyway, by the end of the week I was flipping heavy wooden tables, carrying wooden tables and chairs, throwing heavy-arse garbage bags into tall-arse dumpsters (tip: bounce that garbage bag on one knee, grab with both hands then dunk it like you mean it). I cannot believe the amount of lifting that i've done in the span of a few days. I am super excited to see the results after 3 months of working for this place!
I've worked at the hospital before (clue: also a TON of lifting and walking around) but i've never had aching feet like this before! The plan is to come to work on Monday wearing Toms. I am gonna ROCK you, job!
Trying to write on these post cards so we can finally send them out. It's been a month since we bought them. We are absolutely horrible in timing but Jesse is writing on his first post card as I type this! So far I plan on sending one to my family and my friends Rachel & Jenn. So far we've seen everything in these post cards except for the Koalas and Kangaroos.
I bought a french press :) It's supposed to brew coffee, but it works perfectly as a tea steeper as well. Before going home on Friday I bought a green tea- coconut flavoured tea from a store called T2, and let me just say that "Geisha Getaway" is now officially a new favourite.
Another random thing that I bought were these accessories. The store had a close-out sale and it was $10 for any 3 accessories.
I like these kinds of bracelets that you can stack up on your wrist!
Another necklace which I think would look nice with a simple basic top.
I had this after dinner tonight. I don't know what it's called, I just bought it from the Vietnamese vendor at the market today. Been slowly exploring Viet desserts ever since we got here. Let me just say, this reminds me of a filipino dessert that I absolutely miss and love. Banana chips glazed in sugar and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Except it's yam here and not banana.
Another nostalgic Philippine snack. Gosh, I really do miss flip food don't I? How do I explain this and make it sound appetizing... these are peanuts that have been soaked in broiling water. They have the consistency of chickpeas! I used to buy them a lot when I lived in Bacolod. Mmmm <3
That was my little update!
Time to call it a night.
Xx,
Chelsea
