July 14, 2014- First Time Making Tom Yum!

Took this picture before boarding the train home. Just taking it all in and feeling grateful for the chance to be living in this beautiful city. I still think it's amazing how we're living, breathing and standing in this soil everyday! haha. 


Over the weekend we bought ingredients to make seafood Tom Yum! Here is how it ended up looking like :)


The not-so-secret ingredient was Tom yum paste. Only $2 for a bottle of that goodness. Other stuff we used were:

-greenshell mussels
-bokchoy
-cilantro
-tomatoes
-baby corn
-seafood mix (fishballs, etc)
-enoki mushrooms

*optional: mushroom egg noodles



We were both definitely pleased with the results. We stood over the pot, drooling. 


It tasted so good and only took 20 minutes to make. THAT, my friend, is the beauty of hotpot. 


Did I ever mention that i'm a little obsessed with tom yum?! Next time we might get a little adventurous and try and make it from scratch! :)
